This pollution results in destruction to the health of living organisms, to the natural environment, and to economic structures worldwide. Marine detritus include different plastic things like beverage bottles, bottle caps, shopping bags, cigarette butts, food wrappers, and fishing gear. Plastic waste is very dangerous as a pollutant because it can take hundreds of years to decompose. This waste creates dangers to both animals and humans. Fish become trapped and injured in the detritus, and some animals confuse items like plastic bags for food and eat them. This whole situation needs immediate attention to protect marine life and natural OG system
